A sport that draws this many people in the kind of weather that we got on Saturday can't be that bad. The weather report said that we had 2 inches of rain! Controls that we had put out on dry land early in the morning were in the middle of rivers by the end of the day.
The Green course was by far the most popular of the day. I guess if you are going to brave the foul weather you might as well make it worth your while. Unfortunately, the 3rd control on the Green course was misplaced. This is totally my fault as I should have checked the placement of all the controls before the meet started. It was one of the 2, I didn't double check. Luckily it didn't seem to cause any problems with the competitors.
We can't put on meets without the efforts of our cold wet volunteers. Thank you Andy, Erik, Sheila, Jessica, Paula, Ben, and Larry for your help. Special thank you to the 1st Devil Platoon who swarmed our boxes and equipment and hauled them up the hill to the barn and to the Benton County Parks and Recreation Department who let us use the park and who cleared out blackberries this summer from large portions of the forest.
