With specially-ordered weather to keep runners from overheating (37 deg F, 100% humidity, occasional drizzle, light wind and unlimited horizontal visibility), fifty seven people came from Portland, Roseburg, Eugene and points in between to run an urban orienteering course on the Oregon State University campus. Many people were at their first-ever meet and many ran two courses. Some people went home tired and cold after the meet, but everyone left smiling after having a fun day outside.
Andy was the fastest of eight finishers on the Score-O course. Maria & Masha finished first among nine teams on the 1.8km white course and Kostya lead the pack of 21 Yellow-course teams to win by a four-minute margin over Fedya and Conor. Let's see, that's one Yorkshire-man, three Russians and two Eugene residents as the top finishers. The OSU students must have been home recovering from the Saturday's OSU football victory!
