The coldest day so far this winter didn't deter the faithful orienteerers
from navigating their way around campus. The official Corvallis high temperature
was 39degF, even with the sun poking through. Those on the yellow course survived
a rabid attack by a pack of RV-driving, control-lifting Duck fans on control
#7. Daniel Nelson and Dean McGuire skillfully navigated through the white
course with the best time, while Ben Legg showed some major speed by burning
through the yellow course (despite having just run up Bald Hill minutes earlier).
Andy Dale showed his urbanite side while navigating around the streets and
buildings of
campus on the score course. No doubt he was extra motivated since his house
was marked on an official orienteering map, a dream of his since an early
age.
